Carl learns that his old English Literature teacher is busted, along with her hookers, for working as a madam. Elena takes pity on Ray after he suffers through a string of bad luck. Madeleine disapproves of Ben's relationship with Maria, when a detective from Internal Affairs threatens to get Ben in trouble. But Ben decides that he's going to continue to see Maria, even though he could be jeopardizing his job.
